Amsterdam =]

 my long awaited amsterdam post. i just remember my login email and password. thats why can resume blogging again =]] weee =]]

firstly my impression of amsterdam is the uniform architecture. everywhere you look, every corner you turn, the building have the vintage look. and it has become the identity of that place. even bought the building magnet home. normally in singapore, if you go to those shop that sells souvenirs to tourist. maybe you will find our merlion. thats our identity, but in amsterdam, that is their identity. i find this very amazing. wont the architect there get bored?? LOL. no need to use much creativity. if not they will be seen as taking away the identity of amsterdam. but of coz all these are just guesses and assumption of mine.. =]]

amsterdam is also the first winter country where i tried eating ice cream in the cold. the after feel about this is "FREEZING TO THE MAX!!" but the feeling is very shiok. whahahahah.

it is also well known for the red light district. i see many of my batchmates FB about going there and stuff.. but i didnt managed to go there. hopefully the next time i go there, someone will bring me go see see. the seniors keep talking about the big aquarium, where girls are like mannequin behind the glass wall waiting for their customers.. interesting ya? =]

another then legal prostitution, it is legal to buy and take drugs. they have "coffee shops" where you can order their different favoured "muffin"(drugged). i even went to window shop in a magic mushroom shop. imagine if you innocently bought a candy from that shop and accidentally bring it back to singapore and you get caught, it is good bye to you FOREVER. it is death penalty to bring drugs into singapore.. that is how strict singapore is.. but i think most of the country are as strict. maybe only amsterdam is like that. so relax. let their citizen eat drugs and smoke weed they also dun care.. anyway, if you ever go amsterdam  and try their drug. please remember that it stays in your system for 72 hours. meaning you must made sure the drug is out of your system before you take the flight back home. if you are being found out at the airport of having traces of drug in your body. good luck to you =]]

christchurch

i seriously think this is very cute. last year there was an earthquake in christchurch. some of the buildings were damaged. and this is what the locals drew on the wall just beside the damaged shop. though the city risk is low. i am abit scare of the natural disaster. like earthquake and stuff. as we do not have this in singapore. therefore we do not know how to protect ourselves in case of earthquake..

my new friend jane. she is on probation too. just like me.. after the flight we were tooooo tired but super hungry so immediately went out to search for supermarket. the most important thing overseas, is know where to find food and water. and i think almost every country i went the first thing i wanna know is where is the supermarket. she so hungry till haven even remove make up she went out already.. lol

 
after asking for directions at the lobby, we went in search of pak and save. a super big supermarket. good and cheap =]] got lost as usual as i was leading the way with a map. board a free bus to this place. alight at the wrong stop then tried to study the map again. but in the end took the same bus here after checking with the bus driver.. i need to improve in my sense of directions.. seriously...

 bought my 3 bottle of wines here.. =]] $13 each. in singapore coz $25. if got discount then it is $19.90. good buy. =]]

 

it is summer there 25 degrees, like you are in a air con room in singapore. but when the wind blow like this in the pic. it is really very cold.. maybe coz i am wearing quite light.. like how i wear in singapore.. but it is summer there. still got ppl nv wear tee. half naked walking on the street one.. if i wear thick jacket they will think i am crazy. LOL

we didnt wanted to buy so much at first. but when you wanna bring some of new zealand back to singapore.. this is what happens.. too heavy till we have to put it on the floor while waiting for the free bus.. jane say we no image already. but overseas also nobody know us.. who cares right.. lol

the view from my hotel room window.. in singapore it is quite hard to find places with low buildings. here you can even see the mountains. when i am only at lvl 7 of the hotel.. this view made me feel very peaceful.. spacious.. not stress at all.. =]]

 this is the art museum that i went..

 there was flower exhibition in the cathedral. we went in coz it was drizzling outside. so cold...  

 

amazing.. like a scene in the movie..

the thai food outside our hotel is great =]]

sometimes in the hotel room, there is no free slipper.. and i am quite afraid of the cold. bought this for $20. hopefully it can keep me warm for a long long time =]]

going Amsterdam next. looking forward to that =]]

valentines day this year for me was ... hm.. on the plane.. when i finally reach singapore, it is already 6pm.. n too bad wk got sch.. cant meet up.. sad..

oh well.. we shall celebrate valentines day everyday then.. =]]
